The Old Path Poem

I was  thinking about what I was going to write for my first post and came upon this poem my oldest son had written for me a couple years ago when he was 14. When reading it again I was reminded that because my boys are following my lead my obedience to God is what will keep my sons on the right path...The Old Path.

The Old Path Poem

Written by: Almanzo Schultz

For: Brad---My Papa

There’s a path where others have trod,

A path that’s narrow and strait,

A path told of in the Word of God,

A path we must love, not hate.

The path that is old but right,

The path where is the good way,

The path that scatters the night,

The path we must get back on for to stay.

The path where the truth is held high,

The path where the nations thereon are blessed,

The path where, unto us, God is nigh,

The path where your souls shall find rest.

Turn back to God and repent,

Remember through Christ’s blood ye were bought,

Remember, to Calvary Jesus went,

But if this people repent not...

Hell is where this nation will end up,

O God, hold back thine wrath!

Christian, Wake up, Stand up,

Get back to the old path!
